Sathis de Mel is a formally trained human geographer and regional development planner who has experience over 35 years in diverse project and programme locations in Sri Lanka, South Asia, Africa, Latin America, Europe and North America. He was the organizing secretary and programme director of the Sarvodaya Movement for nearly ten years, and also was the programme director of the International Liaison Committee for Food Corps Programmes, based in Boston, USA and Puebla, Mexico for six years. Sathis was also a member of Asian Development Bank’s International Inspection Panel. He has been a consultant to the World Bank, ADB, UNDP, UNV, UNICEF, IFAD, AusAID and UNOPs.
Karunasena Gamage is an educationist who worked in the field of education in Sri Lanka and abroad. Was a member of the executive council of the Sarvodaya Movement for a long period. Until recently he taught Japanese at the Oversees School where he mobilized the children of its international community for social work. He is currently engaged in vocational training programmes through an NGO which he formed in Hambantota.
Dr. Ariyasinghe has an academic background both in philosophy and library science. He was a senior librarian attached to the university before he migrated to Australia. Currently he is back in Sri Lanka and engaged in various development activities.
A sociologist by formal training Udayana has been a professional development practitioner though his work with Janasaviya Trust Fund, National Development Trust Fund and Sri Lanka Business Development Centre for more than fifteen years. His shift to opinion polls and market research has made him an all – rounder covering many different fields. Currently he is the Director of a well-known market research firm.
Bisowela was a bank manager before he joined the Sarvodaya Seeds where he was instrumental in establishing it in the late eighties. He is easily one of the most senior figures in the field of microfinance in Sri Lanka. He functions as a consultant to various MFIs and NGO s in the island.

Dinusha, our accountant, completes twenty-five years of service with the organisation. A business management graduate from Sri Jayewardenepura University Dinusha has vast experience meeting rigorous donor requirements in financial reporting. Besides financial management, she has been the head of general administration of all our operations.
Engaged in poverty reduction Arthacharya is an organisation which focuses only on the poorest of the poor in the society. Also, it is definitely not yet another service delivery operation.
